REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL PROGRAMS
ROLE AND PURPOSE:
Plan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, articulation, fluency, voice, or language disorders. Assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with students’ ability to derive full benefit from the educational program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Certification/Education:
Master’s Degree in speech-language pathology.
Three hundred (300) supervised clock hours.
Nine (9) months of supervised professional experience.
Passed qualifying examination (American Speech and Hearing Association of Clinical Competency).
OR
Engaged in the practice of speech pathology prior to 1986 and received licensure under
“grandfather” clause.
Maintain ten (10) hours of continuing education credit annually.
Special Knowledge /Skills:
Skill in the tests and measurements used to assess communication disorders and conditions.
Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and
conditions.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel to multiple work locations as assigned.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year of supervised clinical speech-language pathology experience.
